Characteristics – Features
In painting trees, especially citrus trees, after pruning, removing dry bark, disinfecting, and covering tree wounds is of great importance.
Bordeaux paste serves as a protective shield for trees against all forms of damage, as it prevents the cracking and splitting of the bark, which makes the tree susceptible to fungi and insect infestations. Therefore, it combats the spread of harmful insects, especially piercing insects. It also protects the tree from rodents and animals that feed on it. (A wooden stick should be used for stirring, and metal utensils are not recommended for preparing the mixture.)
