It extends the shelf life of the fruits after harvest during transportation, refrigerated storage, and display for sale. 
It preserves the fruits in a good and firm manner for long periods. 
It is used to control all foliar diseases such as fruit rots, blights in potatoes and tomatoes, downy mildew in grapes and cucurbits, and powdery mildew. 
Leaf spots (purple blotch in onions) are non-toxic and leave no residue in all parts of the plants.
